Is John turning producer?

Has the production bug stung John Abraham? Is the talented actor following the footsteps of his colleagues and producing films? That’s the speculation in the industry. According to untrustworthy sources, John has not only floated his film production company, he has also decided to produce two films in the first round.

John, who is traveling from Manchester to Glasgow [for the Rockstars concert], called to deny the news. “It’s rubbish. I am in no mood to turn producer. Not at this moment. In fact, Bhaskar [John’s business manager] also read out the news to me. The thought of starting my own film hasn’t even crossed my mind,” John tells me.

The actor continues without a break. “I am enjoying the phase right now. I am working with film-makers who are nurturing me as an actor. I am at a stage where film production doesn’t feature on my plan of things. My core competency lies in acting and that’s what I am concentrating on,” he states.

John is living out of a suitcase presently. He flies to Toronto soon after the concert, since KABUL EXPRESS will be showcased at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival. “The organizers of the Festival loved the film. Also, KABUL EXPRESS is the only film filmed in Afghanistan after the Taliban regime. The international community is gung-ho for this reason,” he reveals.

Meanwhile, Yash Raj is yet to decide on the release date for KABUL EXPRESS. “Adi [Aditya Chopra] might take a decision after its screening at the Toronto Film Festival,” John adds.
